About Katie

Katie obtained her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, graduating at the top of her class, and has been called to the Bar in the Province of Ontario. She obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfred Laurier University, where she graduated with distinction. Katie articled at Separy Law P.C.

Katie’s practice focuses on all areas of family law including but not limited to, separationdivorceparenting (custody), parenting plans (access to children)child supportspousal support, variations in existing court orders and/or agreements, and resolving issues related to complex property division. While a seasoned advocate, Katie is resolution oriented and often works with clients to negotiate Toronto cohabitation agreements (prenuptial agreements), Toronto marriage agreements (postnuptial agreements, and Toronto separation agreements.

Katie also frequently advises clients whom may have dealt with serious issues such as domestic violence, emotional abuse, financial abuse and other forms of abuse. Her practice as a Toronto Family Lawyer spans all of the major courts in Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area (“GTA”).

Katie has very unique attributes that allow her to be a fantastic family law lawyer to her clients. She is patient with her clients, she is responsive to communication, she is bubbly and friendly, and extremely accurate in her legal approach. Attention to detail is a major strength for Katie.

Katie is resolution oriented and an effective negotiator, but also a strong advocate for her clients in Family Law Court. She tirelessly works to compile Court materials in an organized fashion, with legal strategy in mind, leading cases to resolve in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
