Meet Alexandra Faircloth, our 2023/2024 Articling Student at Separy Law P.C.

Alexandra completed her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law (LASL). Prior to attending law school, Alexandra completed a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management with a Specialization in International Studies, Security and Intelligence at Carleton University.

While at LASL, Alexandra was the founding Vice-President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, Director of Advocacy for the Labour and Employment Law Society, and Director of External Communications for OUTLaws. As part of LASL’s inaugural class, Alexandra worked to establish some of the law school’s most active school societies.

Alexandra also participated in the Refugee Law and Citizenship Moot, volunteered at Rainbow Railroad through Pro Bono Students Canada and worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In these positions, Alexandra prepared for court proceedings, worked on immigration applications and developed a high-level understanding of the global refugee crisis. Alexandra is passionate about assisting clients with their applications and navigating the legal system.

Alexandra is particularly interested in all areas of family law and will be spending her articling experience at Separy Law P.C. gaining practical experience related to  separationdivorceparenting (custody), parenting plans (access to children)child supportspousal support, variations in existing court orders and/or agreements, and resolving issues related to complex property division. Laura will also be working on drafting Wills and Power of Attorneys, assisting with Civil Litigation and Debt Collection cases.

Outside of work, Alexandra enjoys playing fetch with her very talented cat, Eloise, doing pilates and yoga, finding new recipes and sewing.
